More than 800 software developers and IT professionals attended Codemotion Amsterdam this May which made the conference much bigger than the last one!
The second edition of the conference took place on May 16th – 17th in a stunning industrial venue called De Kromhouthal.
Codemotion came back to Amsterdam for the second year in the row. The conference staged many awesome Speakers from the most important international tech companies such as Twitter, Microsoft, Atlassian, Mozilla, Intel or Cisco. However, the local tech companies were not underrepresented!
The employees from Irdeto, bol.com or Schuberg Philis held their talks as well!
During the conference, more than 60 speakers talked about the most interesting tech topics such as Languages, Mobile, Security, Big Data, DevOps, Front-end, Back-end, Methodologies, Design & UX Cloud/Architectures.
The event was opened by the inspirational keynote of Hendrik Blokhuis (Cisco) entitled “The power of Connections” while the second day was started with the keynote of an extremely charismatic Terri Burns (Twitter).
… But Codemotion was not only about great talks!
Some of the most innovative startups from the whole EU had the possibility to present their products in the specially dedicated Startup Showcase Area. But that was not all! Top Tech Communities presented themselves in the Community corner, a special space for the best communities in Netherlands.
Anything new this year?
On the first day of Codemotion the attendees could join a free Cisco Code Lab Hands-On run by Cisco experts. During the Code Lab they could discover the functionalities of Cisco Spark and Tropo – the latest services provided by the company.
Ready for new challenges?
During the tech conference, attendees could talk directly with the representatives of the present companies about the current job opportunities. Interested in applying?
… Boosting diversity at the conference
Codemotion is strongly committed to creating a truly welcoming environment for everybody.
In order to boost diversity at the conference, a special Diversity Initiative was launched in collaboration with Google. Thanks to that initiative 30 people from underrepresented groups could attend the event for free.

Codemotion is all about connecting people. The second edition of Codemotion Amsterdam was a great opportunity to meet and network with lots of people from the tech industry not only from the Netherlands.
Undoubtedly, these two days were full of Code and Emotion!
